Mike Dial is an academic advising administrator, published author, and educator at the University of South Carolina's University Advising Center. With over a decade of experience in higher education at the University of South Carolina, I work at the intersection of academic advising practice, program administration, and applied research. My work is grounded in a commitment to student success, equity, and continuous organizational improvement.

My areas of focus include:

  • Academic Advising Administration — organizational development, advisor retention, and building cultures of continuous improvement

  • Early Alert & Academic Intervention — designing and scaling proactive systems that identify and support at-risk students before they reach crisis

  • Academic Recovery — evidence-based program development for students navigating academic probation

  • Advising Technology — implementation and optimization of platforms including EAB Navigate, CRM Advise, and DegreeWorks
